The Finkel Firm & Mathews Law Group Secure a Jury Trial Verdict in a Housing Discrimination Case Lawsuit

The Finkel Firm is proud to share a recent triumph in a housing disability discrimination case that has not only brought justice to our client but has set a precedent for future legal battles. In a federal court in Los Angeles, a jury unanimously awarded a disabled child $250,000 in emotional distress damages against PLB Management LLC (Park La Brea) on April 13, 2023.

Defendant Park La Brea violated the Fair Housing Act and the California Disabled Persons Act by denying the Plaintiff a reasonable accommodation—a reserved parking space in front of his apartment unit. Our client was represented at trial by our experienced legal team consisting of Jake Finkel, Eugene Feldman, and Avraham Kalaf from The Finkel Firm, along with Charles T. Mathews from the Mathews Law Group. The case, known as C.R. v. PLB Management LLC (Case No. 2:21-cv-03275-ODW), marks a significant milestone in disability rights and demonstrates our unwavering commitment to fighting for justice in the employment law arena.
